Good recovery improves your stress resilience.

It is common knowledge that good sleep is essential for feeling refreshed in the morning. However, many people may not realize that the quality of your sleep is closely linked to your overall stress levels.

Cho et al. conducted a study with roughly 68.000 participants and asked them two things:

  • “how many hours of sleep do you usually get at night?”
  • “how much stressed do you feel in your daily life?”

The results showed that participants who slept less experienced more stress daily. Specifically, those who slept around 8 hours had the lowest perceived stress levels, while those who slept 6 hours or less experienced the highest stress levels.

So simply getting more sleep to around 8 hours per night (and we haven’t started talking about sleep quality) reduces your stress levels subjectively.
